Overview.

The DLS-1 is a quadrupole residual gas analyzer designed for analysis of fusion system fuel delivery. It operates in TIMS mode.

TIMS mode provides control of the energy of the electrons emitted within the ionization source, so that each species, D2 and 4He for example, has a unique fingerprint that can be measured by the DLS-1. This mode of operation is known as Threshold Ionization Mass Spectrometry (TIMS).

Software driven recipes using TIMS provide real-time quantification of hydrogen and helium isotopes and deuterated hydrocarbons. The mass range is 1 to 100 amu and the sensitivity of D2 in He is 100 ppm.
