Overview.

The Hiden 3F and 1000 Series are high-precision triple-filter quadrupole mass spectrometers for analytical residual gas and process applications. Pre and post-filters reduce unwanted ion contamination, supporting improved abundance sensitivity for low-level impurity analysis, mass resolution and high mass transmission.

High-precision RGA with extended mass range options

In the 1000 Series, the longer primary mass filter and 9 mm rod geometry improve ion stability for precision and ratio measurements. Core 3F configurations offer mass ranges to 510 amu, while 1000 Series options extend to 1,000 or 5,000 amu for high mass species. Detector options include pulse ion counting and Faraday detection, depending on configuration.

Full control of electron energy supports soft ionization and complementary threshold ionization measurements. The series is appropriate where general purpose RGA performance is not enough and analytical resolution, low-level impurity analysis, abundance sensitivity, or high mass transmission is the primary need. Detector, mass range and ion source options allow the system to be configured around the analytical requirement.

Key Features.

  • RF-only pre- and post-filters reduce contamination from unwanted ions, improving abundance sensitivity for low-level impurity analysis
  • The 1000 Series has a longer primary filter and 9 mm molybdenum-rod design which improves mass resolution, high mass transmission and stability for precision measurements
  • Mass range options of 50, 300, 510, 1,000 and 5,000 amu extend analysis from residual gases to high mass species
  • Full electron energy control from 0 to 150 eV enables complementary threshold ionization mass spectrometry
  • Pulse ion counting detection with an optional Faraday detector allows the measurement arrangement to be matched to sensitivity and signal range requirements

Software.

Every system ships with control software. Which package suits depends on whether you are running quantitative gas analysis, evolved gas work, or building your own acquisition routines.
